Triumphant return to Hobart
This morning our Clean Up fleet returned to their home ports, with The Diamantina III bringing the record breaking load of 112,117 pieces of plastic collected from the pristine beaches of Tasmania's South West.
What an epic adventure! A huge thank you to Matt Dell and his team of dedicated fishing boat skippers and beach cleaners for having us along for the ride this year. We have learnt so much about marine debris and have hopefully allowed you to get a glimpse into the effect they are having in our corner of the world.
The big challenge for us now is to work towards finding solutions to preventing plastic rubbish entering our environment. What do you think we can do?
Thanks to Andrew Hughes from the Bookend Trust for supporting us in the field and making this experience possible.
Signing out from the 2018 Clean Up,
Captain Wild Pip Jones, Albert-tros, Shark Fin Shane!
